Welcome to St Michaels

Although we are delighted that the Church is able to be open for Public Worship, unfortunately we still can't operate as normal and there will be a limit on numbers able to attend – about 75 – for our usual congregational services.

To ensure that as many people as possible can worship with us each week we will have two services of our Parish Communion:

Sundays at 10am    repeated on      Wednesdays at 10am

(Evensong will be a Facebook livestream only service on Sundays at 6pm)

Please consider carefully which one to attend since we will have to turn away people when we are up to our limit.

The Gordon Hill Church door will open at 9.30am and a socially distanced queue outside needs to be formed as people are let in. Please ensure you arrive in good time as it will take some time to seat you all!

The wearing of face coverings by all those over 11 years of age attending a place of worship where there may be other people present, is now required in law unless exempted.

Please also note the following;

  • No buggies/prams/scooters will be allowed in Church
  • Sanitise your hands as you enter, pick up a Service sheet, make your gift offering.
  • You will be directed to a seat by a Warden – please follow their instructions to ensure you and the Warden keep safe.
  • Please don’t turn around to talk to others (use the time to pray!)
  • Children will need to sit still with their parents and not be allowed to wander/crawl away
  • Holy Communion will be offered in the form of a bread wafer only

At the close of the service a Warden will tell you when you can leave so as to maintain social distancing as people exit the Church (via the Hall Porch door). We encourage you to leave the church premises promptly to maintain social distancing inside and outside of church!

The attendance registers for School Admissions Criteria are in operation

Please help us to make our worship at St Michaels a safe and prayerful experience, that all can feel nourished and enriched by our time together
